Installing a Favicon

Have you ever wondered how to get a little icon to show up near your web address? Or have you ever wondered what they are? Well, they’re called Favicons and I am going to teach you how to make one. (:

First, you will want to open up a new document in whatever program you use. The size should be 16x16. Then, just edit it to your liking.

Once you’re done editing the icon, save it.

Now, you will need to convert it to .ico. To convert it, go here.

After you generate your Favicon, click Download.

When you’re done downloading/unzipping your Favicon, upload it to your server.

Now that it’s on your server, you will need to place the following code onto the pages that you want your Favicon to be on. Make sure it’s in between the head tags.
